Opening stage cancelled after 65 km due to extreme weather
Canada’s Alison “Action” Jackson of TIBCO-SVB won the Women’s Tour of Scotland Stage 2 sprint to pull on the leader’s yellow jersey on Saturday, with one day remaining. Friday’s stage was called off after 65 km due to pummeling, puddling rain.

Jackson beat out Rally’s Emma White in Perth, Saturday’s route containing an early climb of Dukes Pass soon after the start in Glasgow. Jackson’s teammate Brodie Chapman was caught late by the peloton and the fast twitch set fought it out for the win.

Jackson recently claimed the White Spot Delta Road Race in B.C.
On Friday the heavy rain caused too many dangerous standing bodies of water between Dundee and Dunfermline and the organizers decided to pull the plug on the day.
“Conditions have proven impossible due to heavy sections of standing water. Rider safety is therefore paramount and conditions were no longer safe to continue.”

It sure was! Of all the scenarios I would not have guessed a cancelation! Sadly, because I love racing even though 2 ft puddles ? https://t.co/3EKrvv6LFq
