Ben O’Connor switches to Australian squad Jayco-AlUla for 2025
Guillaume Martin and Jhonatan Narváez also on the move
Now that it’s August, it’s transfer season, and the first big switch announcement is Ben O’Connor signing with Jayco-AlUla for two seasons. Australian O’Connor spent four years with French outfit Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale.
Jayco-AlUla (GreenEDGE Cycling) announced the signing in an elaborate Tweet featuring a much-needed pen.

O’Connor’s latest exploit was coming fourth in the Giro d’Italia. He has also placed fourth in the Tour de France and has won a stage in both Grand Tours. He was runner-up in this year’s Tour of the Alps and UAE Tour, and fifth in Tirreno-Adriatico.
Other moves announced on Thursday were Guillaume Martin, top Frenchman in this year’s Tour de France at 13th, heading to Groupama-FDJ after five years at Cofidis, and Ecuadorian champion and two-time Giro d’Italia stage winner Jhonatan Narváez joining the UAE-Emirates mob after six seasons with Ineos Grenadiers.
