Canada going after 2015 World Road Championships

CCA opens bid process to potential host cities

The Canadian Cycling Association has opened the doors to cities that would like to put in a bid to host the 2015 Road World Championships. Eligible organizing committees have until November 7 to submit their letter of intent and then until December 7 to submit their application.

The CCA will publicly inform the selected candidate on December 15 and will then proceed with the process of trying to land the 2015 World Championships. The winning country will be announced at the 2011 Road World Championships.

Canada has hosted the Road Worlds twice, most recently in Hamilton, Ontario in 2003. The other occasion was 1975 in Montréal as an Olympic test event. In 2010, Canada successfully hosted two UCI World Championships: the UCI Para-cycling World Championships in Baie-Comeau, QC and the UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne, QC.
