Canada’s first-ever Liv Bicycle Boutique opens in Vancouver

Vancouver is the site of the first-ever Liv Bicycle Boutique in Canada, which opened Thursday noon at 1709 West 4th Ave. in the West Coast city. The store’s official grand opening, Liv announced, is scheduled for February 17.

The store, owners say, is a dream come true.

With Liv bikes, clothing, accessories, and a customer service experience tailor-made for the female rider, the new boutique store is described by owner and cyclist Anne-Marie Gagnon as everything she would want from a bike shop as a customer. “It’s my dream shop,” Gagnon said. “Clean, organized, classy, welcoming, with friendly, knowledgeable staff and good coffee.” Recognizing the growing market in women’s cycling, the idea, Gagnon said, is to create a retail experience that meets the needs of riders like her: one that offers quality, performance, style and comfort.

Specifically, the Liv Vancouver Bicycle Boutique, Gagnon said, will offer the city’s largest selection of women’s bikes in all types, sizes and applications with quality products from complementary brands added to the store’s in-house catalogue of Liv bikes, clothing and accessories.

“I want this store to be as high-end and professional as the best bike store you may know, but focusing on women’s needs,” Gagnon said. “Cycling has brought me so much joy and so many adventures over the years. I would like to help other women create their own memorable experiences with bikes. I want to share the freedom a bicycle can bring.”

In keeping with that, Gagnon plans for her boutique to be more than just a one-stop shop for the best products on the bike market. The store is meant to be a hub for female riders, with clinics, rides and events planned, and an espresso maker already ordered to allow them to share their experiences over a cup of coffee.

The Liv Vancouver Bicycle Boutique is located next to Giant Vancouver in the city’s West 4th shopping district.
