Castelli announces Perfetto Light jersey

Castelli has announced a new short-sleeve jersey designed for cool spring and fall riding conditions. Castelli’s lineup already includes the cold and wet weather Gabba but for days when the temperatures are milder the Perfectto Light has more breathability.

Featuring a lightweight windproof and water-resistant material on the front, shoulders, and sleeves and a water-repellent material on the back, the jersey is designed to keep the wind out but allow breathability. The material’s breathability prevents moisture build up when being used during intense efforts or when the temperature rises. The lightweight material is designed to keep the elements out with less insulation than colder weather gear such as the Gabba.

The tightly knit fabric is made to be worn for cool and damp riding when full wind or waterproof protection would lead to overheating. It can be effectively paired with arm warmers and over a lightweight jersey so that if conditions change it can be easily packed into a jersey pocket. It represents the middle ground between a jacket and a windvest. Castelli envisions cyclists reaching for the Perfetto Light when riding conditions are cool and there is light rain in the forecast.

Look for Cannondale Pro Cycling to be wearing Perfetto Light jerseys in the upcoming spring classics. The jersey was designed in partnership with the riders who requested wind and rain protection with increased breathability for the cool spring racing and training conditions often experienced early in the season.
