Castelli has released its highly-anticipated Linea Pelle range of embrocation creams, a product dveloped to the standards of cyclists at the highest level of their game—whether that means summer competition at the Tour de France, or the briskness of cyclocross in Belgium.

The line of skincare products is the result of a two-year process of development, during which cyclists tested its varying versions for themselves.

Many of the ingredients, Castelli says, are natural, avoiding synthetic ingredients that are commonly associated with health problems. Beyond that, the idea behind the range of cream skincare products is to be both effective and gentle on sensitive skin, and importantly, gentle enough not to harm technical cycling fabrics. The Linea Pelle collection consists of Chamois Dry Lube, Warming Embro Cream and Foul Weather cream, all available in 100ml tubes with a pump mechanism—ideal for a precise application, not to mention portability.

That aspect of portability, of course, is crucial for athletes whose sport is defined by being constantly on the move, whether in the saddle or traveling to events. The products can be bought individually, or as part of a set, the combo packaged in an appealing red drawstring bag. Features of the various skincare creams include:

Chamois Dry Lube

Reduces friction without weakening the skin through mositurizers. Made from 100% natural tea tree oil and ideal for all riding styles—whether Classics or longer, endurance-oriented races.

Foul Weather Cream

Designed to protect the skin under wet, grimy conditions. As it’s not petroleum-based, the product won’t damage the delicate, technical fabric of bike shorts, and can be easily washed away with soap and warm water.

Warming Embro Cream

In cold weather, even the illusion of warmth is a good thing. This cream creates such a sensation in order to invigorate the muscles on cold days and soothe muscles that have long been active. Made from natural ingredients, the cream can be used along with Castelli’s Foul Weather Cream (see above) to make racing in cold, wet conditions more comfortable.
