Celebrate another year of cycling with Strava’s “The Big Adventure” animated feature

Looking back on a pretty good year in the saddle? If so, Strava is giving you the opportunity to prove it.

This time of year, social media is alight with any number of ways to record your year’s achievements, whether they’re athletic or otherwise. Instagram has its top nine photos of the year feature; Facebook, as ever, catalogues the year’s highlights in its own ways.

For cyclists, though, there’s no more fitting way to enshrine a great year of riding than by sharing the adventure of the preceding 12 months.

Perhaps for that reason, Strava calls its own year-end offering for cyclists the “Big Adventure”—and it’s a fittingly kinetic, engaging way of capturing 2015. A result of Strava’s creative efforts and collective talent, the animation presents a rider’s top individual stats in a fun, engaging way. Every kilometre, high point and upload of the season is accounted for by the animation—and it’s certainly a better way for a cyclist to trumpet some well-earned bragging rights than even the best photo of one’s dinner can offer.
