They did a solid three-hour rip during which the covered 45 km on single track outside of Fruita. Of course, Batty and Armstrong made sure to snap the mandatory mid-ride selfie on a nice outcrop overlooking the Colorado River during their outting. In a post on social media, Batty noted the ride was quite spicy writing, “Ok, seriously, this time, my legs are hungover. Speed legs accomplished for the week thanks to this guy.” Amstrong’s Strava ride was titled, “Fun hammerin’ with this one.”

Batty had been riding in Moab, Utah since late-October and into early-November. The Canadian mountain bike champion is fresh off a remarkable season during which she earned bronze at the world championships in Switzerland and took four consecutive World Cup podium finishes that included two silver medals. In 2019, her Trek Factory Racing team welcomes Jolanda Neff who was also alongside Batty on the podium throughout the season making them one of the most powerful duos in women’s MTB heading into 2019.

Armstrong for his part has been very active as well this fall finishing La Ruta de Los Conquistadores, a multi-stage mountain bike race in Costa Rica early in November. Despite his lifetime ban from sanctioned competitions, Armstrong stays very active and continues to have a good knowledge of the local trails in Colorado.
