Failed Hamilton bank robber has bike stolen at the scene
A thief left his escape ride outside the bank only to find someone had nicked it

At around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Hamilton Police were called to the BMO bank at 375 Upper Paradise Road after reports of a robbery. Authorities discovered that a man had arrived at the bank on a bicycle, leaving it outside. Once inside, he approached a teller, handed over a note demanding cash, and made a verbal threat, implying he had a weapon. However, the suspect was confronted by bank employees and, without getting any money, quickly fled the scene.
Escape was “collected”
The police report goes on to say that, “Upon exiting BMO bank, the suspect returned to his bicycle location only to discover a fellow delinquent had stolen his bike. The dazed and confused male then kicked their legs in high gear and escaped north on Upper Paradise Road…. on foot. The suspect was last seen near Upper Paradise Road and Elmwood Avenue.”
According to the police, the robbery suspect is described as a white male, between 162 cm and 173 cm in height, wearing a long, multi-coloured scarf, black sunglasses, a blue surgical mask, a black jacket with fur trim, black gloves, dark pants, and white shoes.
Police are asking for help…for both of these rapscallions
As far as the other suspect, the bike thief, he is male and wearing all black. (Probs not Rapha, though.)
Police are asking residents in the area to review their residential and dash cameras from the time of the incident. The moral of the story is, I guess, always lock up your bike? And maybe don’t rob banks.
