Jake Innes: Flashback

Victoria downhill talent featured in Kaz Yamamura ‘80s throwback

In Jake Innes’s first season racing the B.C. Cup downhill series, he walked away with second overall in the tough, elite men’s category. Not a bad start to a racing career, and no doubt helped along by relocating from Victoria to Whistler, B.C., for the race season. Innes teamed up with Kaz Yamamura for for this retro-themed video at Whistler Bike Park, proving he has speed, and no real memory of how annoying a VHS was to operate. Fast lines and smooth riding from Innes, though, are enough to make up for bringing up the painful memory of sitting down to watch an old copy of Days of Thunder only to have the aging magnetic tape snap immediately after pressing play. That night may have been ruined, but watching Yamamura and Innes video is sure to make your day better.

Stay tuned for more of Innes in 2018, as he’s joining Dunbar Cycles race team for the upcoming season.
