Canadian Karol-Ann Canuel, a dependable workhorse for high-powered Boels-Dolmans, has extended her contract for two more seasons. Boels-Dolmans is the team of world road champion Chantal Blaak and 2017 WorldTour winner Anna van der Breggen.

Joining Boels-Dolmans in 2016 from Velocio-SRAM where she won two world championship gold medals in the team time trial, Canuel has won a gold and silver in the same discipline with her new squad. Canuel was also part of the lineup that recently took the WorldTour Crescent Vårgårda team chrono in Sweden. In July she was runner-up in both the national championships time trial and the Chrono de Gatineau.

Boels-Dolmans also extended with American Skylar Schneider. Next season, the outfit’s Brit Lizzie Deignan will move to the new Trek women’s team.

Canuel’s next race is Friday’s one-day WorldTour contest GP de Plouay, which will be key in the ding-dong battle between Marianne Vos and van der Breggen for the individual title. Other Canadians lining up are Alison Jackson of Team TIBCO-SVB, Leah Kirchmann of Sunweb and Gabrielle Pilote-Fortin of WNT-Rotor Pro Cycling. One stage race and two one-day races remain in the Women’s WorldTour calendar.
