List of ProTour elites grows for Montreal/Quebec City races
Ryder Hesjedal confirms his attendance
The Grand Prix Cycliste ProTrour Québec – Montréal got another boost Thursday when it received the registration for Canadian ProTour racer Ryder Hesjedal, of Garmin-Transitions. The Victoria B.C. native is currently sitting 12th overall after completing the 11th Stage of the Tour de France. He nearly won Stage 3 last week, finishing fourth on the day after a remarkable breakaway.
“These two races are really important to me, and I hope they’ll become ‘classics’ before long,” Hesjedal said of the two ProTour events, being held Sept. 10th in Quebec City and Sept. 12th in Montreal. “I rode in a national championship race in Québec City, but I’ve never been on the Montréal course. I know it’s a tough one, but I’ll be going all out for the best possible result in both events.”
