The 43rd edition of Mardis cyclistes de Lachine is almost here. The event, which sees more than 50,000 spectators throughout its 10 stages, begins on May 30.

The series takes place on Tuesday nights until the final race on August 8, around the famous course by Parc LaSalle in the borough of Lachine.

Montreal is the host city for the 2026 UCI road world championships, so the popular race series is bound to serve as an excellent showcase to generate interest and promote cycling in the city, organizers say. Plus, fans will have the opportunity to witness both current and future talents in the sport.

Mardis cyclistes de Lachine was founded in 1978 by Joseph Rossi. In 2019, he handed over the reins to Marc and Jean François Néron, the owners of Cycle Néron shops.

For 2023, the torch has been passed on to Dominic Rossi. “We have worked very hard to bring back the tradition of these criterium races to the borough of Lachine,” he said. “I would like to thank all the sponsors who responded to the call, without whom this edition could not have come to fruition.”
