The EF Education First-Drapac team has gathered in Girona, Spain for a pre-season training camp. On a ride Saturday morning, Michael Woods captured an amusing on the road encounter between the team and a flock of sheep.

“Training buds,” Woods wrote in his Instagram post of his teammates riding close to a flock of sheep running along a quiet forested road. Taking up the entire right lane, the sheep run at a spritely pace with the team forced to slow behind them.

The sheep eventually get the cue and go scrambling up the bank leaving the path clear for the team to proceed with their ride.

Pro cyclists are accustomed to animals getting involved in their sport. At the Tour de Poland last year a miniature horse joined the peloton galloping alongside the riders. Two years ago a pair of runaway horses galloped with the peloton on a descent at the Giro d’Italia.

Luckily the sheep were not an inconvenience for the riders who just needed to slow down and seemed to get a little chuckle because of the encounter.
