Mont-Tremblant Gran Fondo announced

Canadian Gran Fondo calendar just got a little more crowded with addition of Mont-Tremblant event.

Another Gran Fondo has been added to the crowded Canadian calendar.
The Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant will take place Sept. 7, as part of the 24h of Tremblant weekend.
“Considering the growing enthusiasm for this type of event, it is the perfect time to introduce a gran fondo in our region, not to mention that it would contribute significantly to recent efforts of positioning Mont-Tremblant as a destination for major sporting events,” said Tourism Mont-Trembland exectutive director Alain Houde.
Two distances – 80 km and 125 km – on secured roads in the Laurential hills will be on offer, and the event will finish on the Circuit Mont-Tremblant motor-racing track shortly before the start of the 24-hour event.
“We are very excited about the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant. It is an added value for the region that will allow the cycling community to discover its charming qualities”, said Mont-Tremblant mayor Pierre Pilon. “Over the years, we have become an excellent destination for professional and amateur cyclists due to road investments in Mont-Tremblant and our neighbouring towns”
Organizers expect more than 1,000 cyclists for the first edition.
