MTB Worlds looking for volunteers
16,000 volunteer hours will be used during the championships
There are 25 days remaining before some 800 athletes arrive in Quebec for the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships at Mont Sainte-Anne. The organizers are still looking for some more volunteers. In all, 850 volunteers are needed for the Velirium festival and the world championships.
The 18-day event, which peaks with the world championships Aug. 31 – Sept. 5, will be made possible by 16,000 hours of volunteer service. For volunteer groups of 10 or more, the event can be used as a fundraiser with the organizers donating money back to the group’s cause. All volunteers will get free meals, an event t-shirt and souvenir accreditation.
