Off-road cyclist rides with mob of emus

The emus held their speed and their line on the gravel surface

A cyclist bombing down a gravel trail in Australia came upon a group of five emus. The amazing encounter was caught on video as the cyclist continued to ride at high speed behind the mob. Overlay of the cyclist’s speed show he was going over 40 km/h when he joined the mob and as they ran down the trail he continued to hold a speed of around 38 km/h. After about a minute, the emus pull off after doing a solid turn at the front.

The emus held their line well for the duration of the encounter despite the high speed and gravel surface they were running on.
