One month until the ProTour arrives
More names added to star-studded roster for Sept. 10 and 12th races. Hesjedal and Barry among those racing.
More big names have been added to the roster of the ProTour races in Quebec City and Montreal Sept. 10 and 12.
Team Liquigas-Doimo has entered its leader, Italy’s Ivan Basso as well as Peter Sagan of Slovakia. Also confirmed are Euskaltel-Euskadi team leader Samuel Sanchez of Spain, and the leader of the Milram squad, Germany’s Linus Gerdemann. They join Quick Step team member Sylvain Chavanel as well as Pierrick Fédrigo and France’s 2010 National Road Race Champion Thomas Voeckler. The only two Canadians entered in this year’s Tour de France, Ryder Hesjedal, who rides for Garmin Transitions, and Michael Barry, of Sky Pro Cycling, are also confirmed. The Canadian Cycling Association will unveil its national team at an August 25 press conference held by the Grand Prix Cycliste ProTour Québec – Montréal in Québec City.
