In the midst of the vicious bomb cyclone, officer James Donnell of the Richmond, Maine police department donned his pink pig beanie and headed out for some two wheeled fun in the snow.

On Thursday, Richmond police chief Scott MacMaster shared a video of the police officer riding through the station parking lot aboard a bike with a shovel attached to the front.
The method is quite effective though Donnell appears to have trouble keeping the bike straight. He also has a lot of work do to do so hopefully the station in the small town wasn’t too busy during the wintry weather.
The East Coast is waking up to an arctic chill this morning following the bombogenesis #BombCyclone. This type of rapidly intensifying storm with hurricane force winds in this part of the globe during winter is rare @NWS #blizzard2018 More imagery: https://t.co/mbgRYot60A pic.twitter.com/v1y87b83ab

The storm, which is passing over the east coast of the United States and Canada has brought snow from Florida up to Maine and through into the Atlantic provinces of Canada. Some places are receiving lots of snow while others have received freezing rain and high wind. While many have braved the storm indoors as high winds, flooding and downed trees and power lines are best avoid, some cyclist in areas which received mostly snow have seen it as a good opportunity for some two-wheeled fun.
If where you live is covered in snow though, we wouldn’t blame you if you are dreaming of a warm winter riding destination.
