Ruby West doubles up on UCI wins at The Silver Goose
American Jack Kisseberth goes back-to-back in men's race
Canada’s only UCI race weekend came to a close on a beautiful sunny day in Midland, Ont. with the elite races at The Silver Goose. The two days of racing were punctuated by unseasonably warm weather and sunny skies. The course was raced along Little Lake with stairs, climbs and sand all featuring prominently.

For the second day in the row, Ruby West of Dundas, Ont. stood on the top step of the elite women’s podium. West who rides for Cannondale-cyclocrossworld.com won solo ahead of Erin Faccone (West Bay Cycling Club) and Natasha Elliott (Garneau-Easton).

In the elite men’s race, Mark McConnell hit out early taking an advantage of about 11-seconds. That gap was reeled in and when he was caught it was Saturday’s winner, American Jack Kisseberth of (JAM/NCC) who took the lead. Kisseberth teammate Scott Smith and Saturday’s second place finished then became locked in a battle with McConnell. Smith was able to dispatch the spent McConnel finishing second with ‘Hot Sauce’ in third place.
