The Tour de Iskandar Johor is a three-stage race that loops the southern Malaysian state of Johor. It starts and finishes just outside of Singapore. X-Speed United is a new UCI Continental team registered in Hong Kong that’s a composite of riders from Canada, Australia and Hong Kong with an eye on development.
Roth, who joined the team after five seasons with Silber Pro Cycling, was one of three Canadians on X-Speed United’s startlist for the race. He took the win from the three-rider break containing New Zealand’s Matthew Zenovich (St George Continental Cycling Team) and Australian Benjamin Dyball (Team Sapura Cycling).
Edward Walsh finished fifth taking second in a sprint from a reduced bunch while Evan Burtnik finished 15th earning him the youth jersey. Roth also sits second in the KOM competition.
