Ruta Negra Italia, L’Eroica and the Trans-Lombardia Challenge (second edition) offer guest the opportunity to ride the Bianchi Infinito CV across Italian terrain both scenic and physically challenging.
If you are a seeker of famed Italian climbs the Ruta Negra Italia is a two-week challenge (July 30th to August 13th) which brings participants over a daunting collection of famous mountains. The Stelvio, Mortirolo, Gavia, Zoncolan, Grappa, and Finestre are accompanied by an equally challenging set of lesser known climbs. A total of 17,000 km is traversed with 50,000 m of elevation gain. This event also allows participants to test the ultra-light and ultra-expensive Bianchi Specialissima which weighs in at 780 grams for the carbon frame and features the Countervail vibration cancelling system for control in the descents.
For those looking for a luxurious excursion in Tuscany with a retro feel the L’Eroica (August 20th to 27th) is a cycling and cultural tour across the Strade Bianche. The event guarantees entry to the original L’Eroica vintage event in Gaiole and participants can choose from four distances; 46, 75, 135 and 209 kilometres. Guests can also purchase a L’Eroica-Bianchi certified vintage bike which comes with a vintage Bianchi wool jersey. Three days of classic Tuscan rides on the Bianchi Infinito CV, a visit to the Eroica Expo, a wine tasting and lunch at the Poggerino winery, and an evening visit and dinner in Siena are also features of the package.
For a week long, scenic trip the Trans-Lombardia Challenge (August 20th to 27th) offers a private factory tour of the Bianchi headquarters in Treviglio and the chance to ride Lombardy’s famed ascents to Passo Stelvio, Gavio and Mortirolo along with . With 16,000 m of climbing over the seven days the event participants also ride the Muro di Sormano from the Giro di Lombardia and some of Italy’s most beautiful climbs and visit Italy’s most famous cycling chapel, the Madonna del Ghisallo.
