Specialized to sponsor Boels-Dolmans cycling team

BOELSOn Sept. 23, Specialized announced that they will sponsor women’s cycling through the Dutch-based cycling team, Boels-Dolmans. Having supported the former HTC-Highroad Womens team, which became Specialized-lululemon in 2012, Specialized is keen to continue their support of woman’s cycling. Both Specialized and lululemon are shifting their support to the Boels-Dolamans cycling team for 2015.

According to Specialized’s press release, the Dutch team will effectively be the new women’s cycling platform for both Specialized and lululemon.  Velocio Sports, the organization behind the current Specialized-lululemon team will continue in 2015 with new sponsors.

American star Evelyn Stevens will be making the move with Specialized and lululemon to Boels-Dolmans.  Other key signings for 2015 include Lizzie Armistead of Great Britain who recently placed seventh at the World Road Championships and Ellen van Dijk who has won the women’s world time trial championships four times.

For 2015, one of the major goals for the Boels-Dolmans Cycling team will be to win the world team time trial championships. With the signing of Evelyn Steven’s who has won the title three times already, the team’s chances have certainly been boosted.

In 2015, the Boels-Dolmans cycling team will be one of the biggest platforms for women’s cycling and thus the team will undertake a season with many major targets. Specialized has stated they are making a big push in the interests of the future of women’s cycling. The will use their professional race team as a means to develop new product for women in years to come.
