Getting kids active and out on their local trails is the International Mountain Bicycling Association’s (IMBA) goal in launching its first annual spring edition of Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (#TAKMBD) on June 11, 2016. “Just like kids, IMBA Canada’s #TAKMBD program is growing in 2016,” the association announced. Clubs, groups and race organizers across the country are encouraged to register their event to get kids involved in mountain biking and out on the trails.

IMBA Canada is a non-profit association whose mission is to help Canada grow a strong mountain bike community and ensure Canada is home to a world-class network of mountain bike trails. Since 1988, they have been encouraging low environmental impact riding, volunteer trail work participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy and innovative trail management solutions. Canada’s organization was established in 2004.

IMBA Canada is supported by Mountain Equipment Co-op and for 2016 announced a partnership with Clif Bar. Host packages will include Clif Kid Zbars along with prizing from MEC and IMBA Canada.

The association invites clubs and groups to register their event at any time and make any day #TAKMBD. The annual fall edition of #TAKMBD is on October, 1st 2016. Join IMBA Canada at imbacanada.com.
