The Tour de France starts on Friday in Denmark, but without British sprinter Mark Cavendish. His team. Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl opted to take Fabio Jakobsen as their fastman instead. Cavenish was listed as a reserve, so when Tim Declercq tested positive on Wednesday for COVID-19, many figured he would be able to jump in at the last minute. Alas, ’twas not to be as the team chose Florian Sénéchal in his stead.

On Wednesday, the Tour held their team presentations. Each team went on stage and were introduced to thousands of Danes who cheered on their heroes. As you can see, looks like it’s not just the fans that miss having the former world champ at the Grand Boucle. The organizers took a not-so-subtle jab at QuickStep-Alpha Vinyl in the video montage that played behind the riders as they took the stage.
