US Marshals intensify hunt for Kaitlin Armstrong

Authorities insist they will find the woman wanted in Moriah Wilson killing

The US Marshals have escalated their search for the fugitive, upgrading the investigation to “major case status,” which means they can spend even more resources and staff in finding the suspect, Kaitlin Armstrong. This follows the news that they are offering a $5,000 as a reward for any information that will lead to her arrest.

Moriah Wilson was killed by gunshot on May 11. After an investigation, police ultimately determined that Armstrong may have been involved as a result of a jealous rage. Her boyfriend Colin Strickland, later admitted to having a brief affair with Wilson. When Armstrong found out he was swimming with Wilson that, she allegedly drove to the apartment where Wilson was staying, killed her, and then hid her bike to make it appear like a botched robbery.

Strickland himself remains in hiding, apparently, fearing for his life.

“Kaitlin is out there watching this, listening to this or reading this information,” US Marshal Brandon Filla said on FOX news. “She needs to surrender to law enforcement.”

He also said that if Armstrong was watching, that she should give herself up. “Safely surrender to law enforcement. Give your side of the story, because this is not going to go away.”

Inside Edition reported on Wednesday that her booking a flight to New Jersey following the killing may have been a clever ruse. “We’ve still been unable to locate a flight that was under the name of Kaitlin Armstrong,” Filla explained. “Looking at video surveillance, trying to narrow down Kaitlin Armstrong amongst thousands of visitors that come in and out of that airport on a daily basis.”

“Now with that being said, there’s a lot of things that could have happened,” Filla added. “She could have been very deceptive to stay off radar, meaning she got transportation to the airport and may have been there, then got transportation out of there like rideshare or bus. But we do know it’s been confirmed through our investigation that her last known whereabouts were at that airport on May 18.”
