Julian Alaphilippe is looking to get back to some of his winning ways that landed him two world championships, among other results. 2022 was marred with injuries and illness, so 2023 could be a big year for the French rider. With the Tour de France looming, the Soudal Quick-Step rider is doing some mega miles.

Alaphilippe is headed to the Critérium du Dauphiné which starts Sunday, but on Wednesday, he went out for a ride with his family. The 75th edition of the race begins in Chambon-sur-Lac and finishes 7 stages later in Grenoble Alpes Métropole.

So far, he has one victory at the Faun-Ardèche Classic, along with a second in a stage of Tirreno-Adriatico and 11th at Milan-Sanremo. For a rider like Alaphilippe, that’s probably not enough to make his year, so he’s definitely looking for some big results.

On Wednesday, the 30-year-old was riding with his partner, Marion Rousse, who is a former pro cyclist and now a broadcaster.

They have a son named Nino, who, as you can see in the video, is getting a free ride in the breakaway. Rousse is behind the camera this time, capturing Loulou pulling a bike trailer up a tough little climb. Maybe this is the training he needs to win a stage at the Tour this year?
