Mont-Tremblant gets a spring Gravel Fondo on May 26

The Laurentians are a playground for cyclists and the Crossroads Tremblant Festival brings the community all together for a weekend of events, racing and much more. In addition to the Canada Cup XCO and DH race weekend and the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant, new for 2019 will be a 90 km Gravel Fondo on May 26 the first event like this in the area.

The route takes to some serious backcountry roads where even cell service will be intermittent. The organizers worked with the city of Labelle and Parc National du Mont-Tremblant team to create a very exciting course which will use backcountry roads that see very little motor traffic.

The 90 km course has challenging features and gives riders the chance to enjoy the scenic landscapes of the provincial park. There are also opportunities for swimming breaks, stops at different points of interest in the park and a party at the finish. The course features support stations and is accessible to riders of all skill levels.

“Gravel biking is a growing trend right now, and we’re fortunate to have an exceptional playground literally in our backyard. I wanted to give participants the chance to try it,” said Simon St-Arnaud, executive producer of Crossroads Tremblant.

The quality of the course and experience the participants will be treated to is intended to make the Gravel Fondo at Crossroads Tremblant an event that is not to be missed in the rapidly expanding world of gravel and mixed-surface cycling events.

Crossroads Tremblant gives competitive and cycling enthusiasts a whole host of exciting events to take part in with crits, mountain bike racing and activities good for the whole family taking place in the village. Also new for 2019 will be bike camps for young riders, an obstacle course, a dual rider cross race and themed rides.
