This Sunday, cyclocross and Halloween meet head-on in Maple Ridge, B.C., as Pumpkin Cross—a family-friendly cycling event for all ages, and of course, all manner of costumes—returns for its 2017 edition.

This year’s event is scheduled to happen at the North Alouette Greenway.

With sunshine in the forecast for Maple Ridge this weekend, the course, organizers say, is in great shape. With prizing and support provided by Liv and Giant Bicycles, other sponsors—Kicking Horse Coffee, Born Sportscare, TaG Cycling, Giant Vancouver and Pitt Meadows Cycles—are also on board, with prizes provided by Herschel Supply Co. for the costume contest. The kids’ race will be supported by Maple Ridge Dentistry for Kids.

A special first-time women racers registration package will be available this year, too, allowing access to the race along with a single-day race licence for first-time female riders.

Pre-registration beore 5 p.m. on Friday will save time on race day, as well as $10 off the registration fee—something organizers ask interested riders to take advantage of. Additional Pumpkin Cross information, as well as registration details, can be found at localride.ca.
