Two new qualifying events for the Enduro World Series announced

Angel Fire, New Mexico, and Sun Valley, Idaho will host qualifying events on the NAET circuit for the EWS.

END15_SV_SEANRYAN-6778  Racers working towards qualifying for the Enduro World Series (EWS) have two new events to target. Angel Fire, New Mexico, and Sun Valley, Idaho, are Scott Enduro Cup events which have now been sanctioned by the North American Enduro Tour (NAET) making them qualifiers for the EWS for 2017.

Angel Fire, New Mexico is a new entrant on the tour and offers over 60-km of trails for riders of all abilities and is one of the largest lift-access mountains in North America. The mountain 600 meters of altitude adjustment in the Southern Rockies.

Sun Valley, Idaho offers two-days of super-enduro racing and brings riders through the backcountry singletrack of Sun Valley Resort. The first day of racing features the backcountry singletrack with the second day offering a chance to tackle the course at the resort itself.

Enduro World Series

The NAET is a circuit of events for racers working towards the EWS, the top international enduro race series. Five of the six races on the NAET are now qualifiers for the EWS. Points accumulated this season go towards securing a spot in the 2017 EWS season. Races on the NAET include the Whistler Spring Classic (May 28 and 29) and the Whistler Fall Classic (September 10 and 11) which feature rooty technical courses through the rain-forests. Also on the calendar are stops at Angel Fire and Sun Vally, a race in the California Enduro Series, the Kamikaze Bike Games Enduro at Mammoth Mountain and Big Mountain Enduro Series in Mascota, Mexico.

Crankworx Events Incorporated has assumed control of the NAET and say that the series provides the best experience for junior and amateur athletes with the goal of increasing the North American talent pool of all-mountain riders.

“We are very excited to have Sun Valley and Angel Fire on the NAET schedule this year,” said Ben Nelson, Scott Enduro Cup race director. “The new NAET and EWS qualifying format will bring a lot of benefit to our riders, as well as help grow the enduro scene within the Mountain West and North America as a whole. We are looking forward to working alongside some very talented race promoters and fantastic sponsors to provide the best days out racing a bike possible. It’s going to be a fun summer.”

Whistler, B.C. hosts round 6 of the EWS on August 14. The Scott Enduro Cup circuit includes Moab, Utah (May 7), Angel Fire, New Mexico (June 11 and 12), Sun Valley, Idaho (June 25 and 26) and a final stop in Park City, Utah (date to be announced).
