Beginning Saturday, March 31 at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort in Victoria, B.C. the Bear Mountain Bike Festival will bring fans, families aspiring racers together with Canadian Olympians to start off the Canadian mountain bike season. The festival runs March 31 and April 1, with Saturday’s season opener Canada Cup cross country race as the marquee event.
In addition to the UCI sanctioned Canada Cup race, there will also be a B.C. Premier Series short track XC on Sunday morning providing fast paced spectator friendly racing, and an Island Cup Enduro race. The enduro race will have categories from beginner to expert, with a special expert only stage, and a new trail cut in just for the event. Food trucks, kids riding clinics, and bike demos from several different brands will also take place over the weekend to keep spectators entertained between races.
