Watch: Aaron Chase DIY flipping an open loop

Learn to build and execute an open loop flip

Aaron Chase’s latest video is the first in a series of do-it-yourself building, prepping for and executing sweet tricks. In the first episode “MTN MODs. Episode 1: Open Full Loop”, Chase consults with Matt Macduff who in 2016 attempted a truly mind boggling 40 ft loop but failed and sustained 10 fractures.

The episode follows the team as they build an open loop. From designing the jump, scoping out a location to installing everything. They then ride the loop mastering executing the technically challenging stunt.

“All [you] gotta do is not hit your brakes,” Aaron Chase said. “Of course, this is easier said than done — when attempting an open full loop for the first time — without proper coaching and guidance.”

Macduff who’s now recovered from his terrible fall in 2016 does his first loop since that fateful attempt. By the end of the episode the group are nailing the loop time after time.

While this simple trick is impressive, you will want to also check out the amazing Matt Jones Frame of Mind edit which brings to the screen the process of visualizing and executing unique stunts.
