Maggie Coles-Lyster’s Naked titanium track bike

After a crash left the 2017 junior points race world champion without a bike, she got a new whip

Coles-Lyster

After a devastating crash in February that left Maggie Coles-Lyster’s body bruised. bloodied and broken, and her bike in pieces, the 2017 junior points race world champion needed a new bike so she could keep racing and training once she recovered. The Maple Ridge, B.C. native ended up getting a frame provided to her by Quadra Island. B.C. bike builder Naked.

Her titanium track frame was completed with a classic but eye-catching pink paint job with lots of raw titanium still peeking through. The bike carries the name Elle Pirahna for a nickname Coles-Lyster picked up after a crash at an international competition. As titanium is more durable than carbon, the bike should make it through more crashes that unfortunately happen unscathed. In fact, just before this video was shot Coles-Lyster hit the boards while competing in the omnium nicking her pink handlebar tape.
