Rheeder and Rogatkin slopestyle rivalry continues at Crankworx Innsbruck
After crashing in practice, Rheeder still flies to second in Innsbruck
Nicholi Rogatkin stole the second round of Crankworx World Tour slopestyle competition after Canada’s Brett Rheeder crashed hard during practice in Austria.
Despite missing most of the scheduled practice time, and riding with an injured wrist on competition day, Rheeder still walked away from the Innsbruck round of Crankworx with a second place finish. The Canadian slopestyle specialist left some of his newer, higher scoring tricks out of his run, but still scored enough points to beat out Diego Caverzasi in third, and still threw in a big flat drop back flip tailwhip.
Crankworx concludes today with the iXS Crankworx downhill race. The four stop series then heads to Les Gets, France before the final round in Whistler, B.C.
Earlier in Innsbruck, Casey Brown of Revelstoke, B.C. won another whip-off competition, winning the Oakley Alpine Whip Off on a huge sender high in the Austrian alpine.
