Albstadt will debut the UCI’s new World Cup weekend format, where the top 40 Elite Men and Elite Women will race the Short Track XC (XCC) format on Friday to claim positions in the first two rows of the starting grid for Sunday’s race. The top 16 finishers in Friday’s XCC will take up the first two rows, with normal World Cup ranking resuming for positions 17 onward.

As this is the first weekend of XCC racing, there are no plans yet to televise the event, but follow the UCI’s mountain bike Twitter feed for updates, as well as CanadianMTB on Twitter to stay on top of the action.
