Four Canadian stops are included on Enduro World Series calendar of EWS Qualifier Series events that was announced today. The expanded Qualifier Series, which provides the opportunity for riders to qualify for EWS races, now includes 50 events spread out over 25 countries around the world. If you want to test yourself against the world’s fastest enduro racers, or line up for the notoriously difficult Whistler “Crankzilla” EWS round, these qualifier events are your chance to earn the chance to do so. While three of the events are located in B.C., including Canadian national enduro championships, Ontario has landed an EWS Qualifier event, to be held at Blue Mountain as part of the Canadian National Enduro Series.

The four Canadian Qualification Series races for 2018 are:

May 13th – Fraser Valley, B.C. – Canadian National Enduro Series (CNEC)
June 2nd – Squamish, B.C. – Squamish Gryphon
June 17th – Panorama, B.C. – Canadian National Enduro Championships
July 18th – Blue Mountain, Ont. – CNEC

Registration for these events opens Jan. 15th, with the exception of the Squamish Gryphon, for which registration opens on March 1.

The EWS Qualifier Series was established in 2016 so amateur riders could gain access to EWS events. “The Qualifier events are a great way for riders, especially amateurs, to have a clear and fair pathway into the World Series,” said Chris Ball, managing director of the Enduro World Series. Riders hoping to qualify to race amongst the world’s fastest must become members of Enduro Mountain Bike Association (EMBA), run by the EWS. From there, members can gain points through the qualifier events, with a rider’s best three results counting toward his or her points total. Further details on the latest qualification process are to be announced shortly.
