A hot day of cross country delivered scorching fast under-23 races at the Leogang World Cup on Sunday.

Adrien Boichis (Trinity Racing) launched a blistering attack to drop Dario Lillo (Scott Davos) and win the under-23 men’s race. It’s the French rider’s first XCO World Cup win this season after two short track victories. Lillo still leads the series overall, though.

Sofie Heby Pederson (Willier Pirelli) continued her perfect streak of three XCO World Cup wins on the under-23 women’s side. Samara Maxwell and Ginia Calouri (Thomus Akros) round out the podium but could not challenge the dominant Dane.

Emilly Johnston (Trek Future Racing) was the top Canadian u23, squeezing back inside the top 10 with a ninth place in the u23 women’s XCO. Jocelyn Stel finished on the lead lap in 42nd.

Carter Woods (Giant Factory Off-Road Team) punched up the steep Austrian hills to a 12th place finish in the u23 men’s XCO. Woods now sits third overall in the series. Cole Punchard (Hockley Valley Armada) followed in 26th, one spot ahead of Trek Factory Racing’s U.S. phenom, Riley Amos. Noah Ramsay was 47th, Zorak Paille (Pittstop Racing) 58th, Own Clark 62nd and Jack Ciotlos 104th.
