Watch: Emily Batty previews the XCO track in Lenzerheide

Follow the Canadian XCO national champion around the 2018 world championships course in Switzerland

Emily Batty will be looking to be at the sharp end of the Elite Women’s race when 2018 world championships land in Lenzerheide, Switzerland on Saturday. The Canadian national champion has been on the last five straight World Cup podiums this year, almost taking her first Worlds level win on several occasions.

Follow her around the cross country course in Lenzerheide to see what she’ll be up against as she tries to dethrone Jolanda Neff on the Swiss star’s home turf. Batty discusses line choice options and race strategy for Saturday’s race. She also covers equipment choice decisions to adapt to this weeks constantly changing weather in Switzerland.

While Saturday’s Elite XCO races were originally set to be georestricted and unavailable in Canada, it appears there has been a late change. Canadians should now be able to tune in to watch live, or on replay on RedBull TV. Which makes sense, Batty is one of the pre-race favourites to bring home a medal, a Red Bull sponsored athlete and very Canadian. If that doesn’t work, here are the other options for viewing the weekends events.
