Enduro World Series racing is back in Petzen-Jamnica for the first time since 2018. With long stages and steep tracks, it’s the only EWS round so big it takes two countries to host the weekend.

Big news for this weekend is the return of Sam Hill. The Australian missed round 1 at Tweed Valley, but is back in Austria and Slovenia for round two.

Watch the shakedown riding to get a feel for the loamy, rooty tracks in Petzen and Jamnica.

Then check in with the rider to see how they’ll be changing their bikes to adapt from short stages in Scotland to 10+ minutes stages this weekend.

Jesse Melamed weighs in on how he’ll be managing the added fatigue and on his switch to narrower bars.

Shakedown Raw: EWS Petzen Jamnica

What’s EWS say about the series’ arrival in Petzen Jamnica?

Here we go… who is ready for round two of the 2022 Enduro World Series?! For EWS Petzen Jamnica conditions are extremely different to those found in at round one in Scotland. Yes, there are plenty of trees and many of the stages are often a carpet of chunky roots but in Austria and Slovenia, those roots are peppered with huge chunks of limestone.

The feel is very much ‘old school’ EWS – big course, long stages and nowhere for tires and rims to hide!

Shakedown is a trail marked out by the local organizer as giving a good feel for what the pros may be in for without it being in the race itself. They can do as many runs as they want, work on their set up and get settled in before a long week of racing.
