Maghalie Rochette will bikepack to the MTB world championships

Quebec rider to use the adventure to prep for race

Maghalie Rochette

Maghalie Rochette will be taking a bikepacking trip from Dublin to Glasgow as part of her preparation for the MTB World Championships. The ride follows a difficult spring for Rochette, during which she faced back injuries. The CX star recently had surgery and is set to ride in the upcoming world championships, her 13th participation in the event.

Rochette’s choice to take on the adventure route is part of her eagerness to combine both the thrill of adventure and competition.

“The road from Dublin to Glentress Forest represents a dichotomy that mirrors the essence of my journey. On one hand, it symbolizes the pursuit of high-performance and excellence in the world of professional cycling,” the multiple national champion said. “On the other hand, it encapsulates my thirst for adventure, which fuels my passion for the sport and sets the stage for bigger goals I plan to achieve later in the season. This journey is a celebration of the joy that cycling brings to my life, blending the thrill of exploration with the intense dedication required in the competitive realm.”

Her trip will begin on July 31, at the Dublin Airport and is scheduled to conclude in Glentress forest on August 5. Following this, she will compete in two major events: the marathon world championships on August 6 and the ebike XC world championships on August 9.

Rochette encourages her fans to follow her ride on her Instagram and through a podcast she will be doing at the end of every day’s ride.
