With a break in the Enduro World Series and the promise of fresh trails on race day, there were some big names on the start list for Round 2 of the Norco Canadian Enduro Series in Kamloops, B.C.

After opening the season at Vedder Mountain in the Fraser Valley, the NCES headed into the interior for the high speed trails of Harper Mountain.

Events started with Saturday’s Grass Slalom, with its own cash prizing, then continued for all of Sunday. NCES makes a point of supporting trail work in every community the series visits. With this programm a couple different trails revitalized were revitalized for race weekend and to be enjoyed by the community going forward.

Miranda Miller (Kona Gravity Racing) took the top step of the pro women’s podium. Squamish’s hometown DH world champion traded stage wins with Rocky Mountain / Rocky Mountain’s Andréane Lanthier Nadeau. 2018 NCES series winner Jennifer McHugh finished third.

In the pro men’s race, Rhys Verner made it two for two for Kona Gravity Racing. Verner narrowly edged out McKay Vezina (Giant Factory Off-Road Team), taking the win by just three seconds after 27 minutes of timed racing. Max Leyen (Norco Canadian Enduro Development Team) claimed the final podium spot in third.

Emmy Lan was the fastest in the under-21 women’s race, leading Emilly Williams and Sena Odyakmaz. Carter Krasny was the top under-21 men’s race. Behind him Jacob Tooke and Emmett Hancock were second and third, respectively.

Round #3 of the Norco Canadian Enduro Series will return to Revelstoke in the B.C. interior on June 16, 2019. The event doubles as the second round in the Enduro World Series new three-stop North American Continental Series. From Revelstoke, NCES heads east to Blue Mountain, Ontario on July 7th, part of the new Sea Otter Canada weekend.
