Are you looking for the perfect gift for your hard-to-buy-for riding buddy? Or just need another reason to join your local trail association? Give the gift of trails this year by signing up with your local trail association. Or by giving a membership to someone else.

North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA) put together Restore the Shore with Westlynn Media for a gentle and entertaining reminder of why local trail associations are important and what work they do.

In Restore the Shore, Geoff Gulevich and Vaea Verbeeck return to North Vancouver’s famous Mt. Fromme in the year 2024. After years away, the trails aren’t in the condition they once were. The pair run into Todd “Digger” Fiander, who explains how it all went wrong.

Trails don’t make themselves. Not everyone has time to head out into the woods and dig, though. If you’re short on time, you can help do your part to keep trails open and maintained by supporting those that are able to put in hours of work to keep corners smooth.

Trail associations do more than just smoothing out berms and repairing woodwork. They work with landowners to ensure continued access to riding areas, puts on events, and all kinds of other work behind the scenes.

You can get your 2019 membership at NSMBA.com and follow all their work on Instagram and Facebook. If you’re not in the lower mainland, find out what trail association is working to make your time in the woods more fun.
