The 2023 Canada Cup season is underway after a big weekend of cross country racing at Hardwood Ski & Bike in Ontario. Quinton Disera and Nicole Bradbury earned the elite men’s and women’s wins. The powerhouse Stiumuls Orbea team dominated the junior racing, taking both wins and sweeping the junior women’s podium.

Elite men and women

Quinton Disera started his Canada Cup campaign racing on home turf and earned a win for his new Pivot Cycles-OTE team. He was joined on the podium by Tyler Clark (Hockley Valley Armad) and Noah Ramsay (Batemans Bike Co), both part of the younger generation of XC racers pushing onto the international scene.

Nicole Bradbury (Hockley Valley Armada) earned her first elite Canada Cup win in the women’s race. The Ontario racer was followed across the line by Juliette Tetreault (ACQ) and Julianne Sarrazin (VPDH Race Team).

Junior men and women

In junior racing, Stimulus Orbea left little room for other teams on the podium. Ava Holmgren led her sister Isabella Holmgren and Canadian junior XCO national champion Marin Lowe in a sweep of the junior women’s race. On the men’s side, Ian Ackert took a solid win. Owen Deale travelled up from the U.S.A. to take second, just five seconds ahead of Jacob Roy (PONSSE).
