Watch: Racing Winter – A Yeti Tribe Story

Shawn Neer heads to British Columbia for one final taste of alpine singletrack before the snow arrives

Shawn Neer - Racing Winter - Yeti Tribe

Every rider finds their own way of dealing with the arrival of winter. For Yeti/Fox Factory rider Shawn Neer, it means making his annual pilgrimage north for one final rip on Golden, B.C.’s high alpine trails. After a long season of racing, it’s a chance to reset by returning to the terrain that helped him regain his connection to mountain biking.

Before snow covers the trails and Neer heads indoors for intense off-season training, the race to get one last taste of singletrack in feels like a victory. These uninhibited riding trips also bring balance to Neer’s regimented racing season, which seems to be working as Neer placed 10th at the opening Enduro World Series round in Lo Barnechea, Chile this spring.

Created for Yeti by Joey Schusler and Craig Grant, Racing Winter is a great window into the off-season riding of a top level racer, and a glimpse at the incredible riding British Columbia has to offer.
