Rocky Mountain wants to help make your next enduro shred-fest even more metal. The North Vancouver-based company is introducing an alloy version of the agressive Instinct BC Edition big wheel bike.

BC Edition’s of Rocky Mountain’s bikes have always been burlier versions of their already-capable bikes, designed to survive the notoriously rough trails of the bike’s namesake province. The BC Edition of Rocky Mountain’s Instinct line steps up to 155mm rear travel from 140mm, in both the carbon fibre and new alloy version.

The Instinct Alloy 50 BC also simplifies Rocky Mountain’s Ride-9 suspension adjustment system into a single-position link. Given the bikes intended use, only the ultra-aggressive geometry position remains. A Fox Float DPX2 Performance shock, in metric sizing, keeps the suspension moving.

With its BC designation, the Instinct Alloy 50 BC arrives ready to roll out of the bike shop and onto Whistlers toughest trails. Rocky Mountain have kitted out the BC Edition bike with 780mm wide bars, big tires, stiffer wheels, and more capable suspension. With the Fox DPX2 out back, there’s a 160mm Fox 36 Float Grip Performance fork up front. If you want to get even more aggressive, Rocky says the Instinct Alloy 50 has clearance for 29 x 2.6″ tires. In the bike’s 27.5-plus setting, it will fit 27.5 x 2.8″ (27.5 x 3.0″ with some low profile tread patterns).

Since the bikes 29″ wheels and the Instincts suspension platform make the Alloy 50 BC capable on the climbs, too, all frame sizes will fit a water bottle in the front triangle, even with a reservoir shock.

The bike also features  an integrated “Spirit Guide” chainguide, boost spacing, tooled axles, chaingstay and downtube protectors, and single-sided bearing pivots. Looking to future-proof the bike, there’s also cable routing to run a dropper post, Di2 and Fox Live compatibility.
