Tristan Lemire will be on the sidelines for his first elite World Cup downhill. The young Canadian crashed in practice in Lenzerheide on Thursday, injuring his hand.

The timing is rough for the speedy Quebec racer. Lemire just signed with the new Transition Factory Racing squad. He also was just getting back into racing after a broken wrist at Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup late in 2022. We’re wishing Lemire a quick and speedy recovery, and hoping we’ll see him back on the start line soon.

Lemire isn’t the only rider to be taken out by the Lenzerheide course. The list of high-profile injured riders already includes Aaron Gwin and Luke Meier-Smith.

Elite men’s and women’s downhill semi-finals and finals run Saturday in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. They are half free to watch and half pay access viewing. Here’s where and how to watch in Canada.
