Pendrel and Batty top-10 in French World Cup

Catharine Pendrel leads world ranking

Canadians Catharine Pendrel (Luna Pro Team) and Emily Batty (Subaru-Trek) continued their strong season performances by placing inside the top 10 at the fourth World Cup event held in France this weekend.

Pendrel, the current world champion, finished just off the podium in fourth and Batty placed ninth. Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa secured the victory.

Pendrel is currently leading the International Cycling Union (UCI) standings ahead of France’s Julie Bresset and Poland’s Maja Wloszczowski. Batty is sitting in eleventh place overall.

Batty opened the season with a second place at the World Cup round one in South Africa, and Pendral placed third. Pendrel won the second World Cup in Belgium, and Batty placed seventh.

The pair went on to the third World Cup in Czech Republic, where Pendrel placed sixth and Batty tenth.
