Tour de Quebec lengthens

Multi-format race returns to five days in late July

The fifth edition of the Tour de Quebec returns to five days in length for the first time since 2009. A partnership with sponsor Desjardins Financial Group has made it possible to hold a five-day event from July 25-29. Recently, financial constraints have limited the race to a weekend.

Featuring professional, amateur and junior teams, organizers expect over 400 riders to contest a sprint prologue, two road races in the Quebec City area, a time trial that follows the St. Laurent River with a criterium chaser in St-Augustin, and a last day criterium in Quebec City around the Parliament buildings.

Past winners include the SpiderTech duo of Guillaume Boivin and Bruno Langlois, and 2009 champ Josh Dillon of BikeReg/Cannondale.
