The 2017 Cannondale SuperX and it’s aluminum cousin the CAADX have been revamped to handle fast and technical cyclocross courses with more steering stability and a tweaked geometry. Additional clearance for a wider selection of tires also make it suitable for adventure and gravel rides. Additionally, the top end Team SuperX is equipped with Zipp 303 wheels and thru axles.

The SuperX and CAADX incorporate new features for responsive steering and to handle nimbly. Cannondale say the Outfront Steering Geometry puts the rider in a better position to handle through technical courses . For increased stability the frame has a slack head angle of 71.5-degrees with a fork offset of 55 mm, 63 mm trail and 68 mm bottom bracket drop. Additionally, the 422 mm chainstays provide good traction when climbing and on slippery surfaces. Cannondale say the tweaked geometry provides agile handling and quick steering whether going at highspeed or steering around obstacles.

Cannondale have also introduced a technology they call Speed Save Micro-Suspension to the rear stays and fork of both the frames that is designed to absorb shock for better control, traction and comfort.

The SuperX drivetrain is offset 6 mm to allow for an evenly dished rear wheel with tires up to 40 mm and still have 5 mm of clearance. This wide tire clearance gives the bike increased versatility to be used on adventure or gravel rides. While the CAADX can only go as big as 35 mm tires, the aluminium version has a similar geometry as the SuperX.

The SuperX is given flat mount front and rear disc brakes and a 25.4 mm Save seatpost with 2 cm more of exposed and a hidden clamp bolt. The frame has internal cable routing and a removable front derailleur hanger for a clean look when the bike is setup with one chainring. The CAADX

The SuperX will be available in four men’s models and one women’s model while the CAADX will be available in five men’s models and one women’s model.
