Cipollini RB1k Luxury Edition: Jewels, platinum and a $54,000 price tag

Earlier in April, at the Monte Carlo Like Bike Expo, Italian bike designer Cipollini unveiled the $54,000 Cipollini RB1k Luxury Edition. What do you get for 54 grand? You get a carbon-fibre aero road bike with platinum lettering (weighing 110 g) on the down tube and the logo on the head tube (12 g). The logo gains some more mass from the 18-carat gold (40 g) and white and black diamonds ranging from four to 16 carats.

The video shows the bike in its owner’s cellar behind an iron gate. Potential owners might want to consider higher security.
